The EDB in collaboration with the Department of Commerce will conduct a seminar on “Product standards applied by the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. The objective of the programme is to create wider awareness of the product standards applied by the Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO) member states among the Sri Lankan exporter community and Government institutions.

Topics

Product standards relating to Sri Lanka’s key exports (Tea, Processed Food & Beverages, Fruits & Vegetables, Spices & Allied Products, Coconut Kernel based products, Confectionary & Bakery products, Fisheries Products etc) to GCC countries will be addressed at the seminar.

Resource Persons

The seminar will be conducted by a team of technical experts from Saudi – based Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO).
